“The Last Hunt” ABC 20/20 + Hulu
An investigative reporting assignment that brought me to the remote bush of Zambia, the site of an American woman’s death which resulted in the U.S. government prosecuting a federal murder case. I led an international production team of 10, including on-air talent, camera and drone operators, local fixers and safari guides.

This project came together during the height of the pandemic. Revisiting a famous murder case from the ‘90s, I convinced the people at its center to tell their stories for the first time. Through the long production process, we formed relationships that continue today. I am so proud of this two-hour documentary, which became one of 20/20’s most streamed episodes.

This story was a labor of love. When I first read about Joe’s case in 2018, he had already spent 32 years in prison for his wife’s murder. The details of the deeply flawed investigation and trial were shocking. My journey with Joe and his family spanned three years, from our visits in prison to his eventual release and return home. Joe’s story is one of faith and resilience of the spirit.
